It's Your Property

Description

It's Your Property is a window only property trading game for 1–4 players (mix of humans and AI). Buy up real estate around the board, build up your holdings, and outlast or outearn your opponents over a set number of laps. Land on properties to buy or pay rent, collect cash every time you pass Payday, and manage debt carefully — interest keeps compounding until you pay it off. Random Wildcard events can help or hurt any player, and Quick Sale opportunities let you cash out when you need liquidity. The game ends when someone hits the target lap count or only one player is left standing; whoever has the highest net worth at that point wins.

How to Play

1. Setup — Choose the number of players (1–4), how many are human vs. CPU, and player names. CPU opponents play with different personalities: Aggressive Buyer, Landlord, Cautious, and Opportunist.
2. Take your turn — Roll the dice and move that many spaces around the board.
3. Landing on a property:
   • Unowned → you can buy it.
   • Owned by someone else → you pay rent, based on 2% of the property's price.
   • Owned by you → nothing happens, but you may choose to upgrade it.
4. Rent scales up — Owning every property in a color group doubles rent across that group. Upgrading a property (up to level 3) adds roughly 40% more rent per level — a fully upgraded property in a complete set charges around 4.4x base rent.
5. Upgrading — Costs a percentage of the property's price (12% / 16% / 20% for levels 1/2/3). Upgrades are permanent, but you can sell a property back for 70% of what you've invested if you need cash.
6. Passing Payday — Collect cash each time you pass it. If you're carrying debt, interest is charged every time you pass Payday too.
7. Cards & Wildcards — Landing on these spaces triggers random events — some good, some bad — that can shift the game.
8. Managing debt — You can take on debt if you run low on cash, but it accrues interest, so pay it down when you can.
9. Elimination — Players who can't cover their debts are eliminated from the game.
10. Winning — The game ends when a player reaches the target lap count or only one player remains. The player with the highest net worth (cash + property value − debt) at that point wins.
